The rain keeps piling up in 2015. While rain totals over the weekend were below expectations we still managed to pick up a good 1-2" across most of the area.
Rain amounts were highest in the southern ArkLaTex where some places saw more than 2". Here are some of the rain totals from across the ArkLaTex from Friday through Sunday.
NW Louisiana
2.03" Natchitoches
1.92" Pleasant Hill
1.34" Bossier City
1.21" Ruston
1.17" Minden
0.79" Bienville
SW Arkansas
1.61" Texarkana
1.22" Hope
NE Texas
2.01" Nacogdoches
1.90" Center
1.50" Marshall
0.86" Hallsville
0.64" Dekalb
SE Oklahoma
0.56" Idabel
Record rainfall continues in Shreveport in 2015. For the month of March the total so far of 8.02" makes it the 10th wettest March since records began in 1872. Only .02" more is needed to surpass March of 1894 as the 9th wettest.
Rain for the year is now up to 19.75", putting us just outside of the top 10 wettest Jan-Mar periods. If we add .20" of rain before the end of the month we'll be in the top 10 wettest starts to a year.
With more chances for rain expected later this week, we'll have a pretty good shot at climbing a little higher in both categories.
